Did you notice that I have changed my hair color recently? I am still a natural brunette on my roots, but the ends of my hair are sunny blonde. This hair coloring technique, better known as ombre, gave me a little snap on how I would look like if I go all the way blonde. And, to tell you the truth, it added a special bonus of making me look a bit younger. While my new hair color did not dramatically change my hair care routine, I did start experimenting more with different products. Today, I am collaborating with Influenster to give you my feedback on L’Oreal’s new line of nourishing hair products.
I can’t remember if I told you about it or not, but I have special relationships with Argan Oil. I started using it on my skin and hair long before it became a mass-market addiction and it never lets me down. Lightweight and delicious, it deeply moisturizes my skin and hair and helps to deal with such problems as splinted ends and patches of dry skin on elbows. I love mixing Argan Oil with other oils too. Perhaps, Sweet Almond Oil is the best Argan Oil’s companion.
Saying so, you can imagine how excited I was to see Argan and five more oils in the ingredient list of L’Oreal Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner. For my dry hair that are getting extra cranky and freeze in spring, it seemed like a recipe for success. I was a bit afraid though that oil-based products might make my roots even more oily than usual, but it didn’t happen. Instead, my hair felt extra soft and silky—without any sacrifices such as switching to a daily hair washing routine. I kept using both products every other day for a period of two weeks and I report that my hair did not become oilier.
I can’t say much on how this hair care line works for colored hair as both products contain sulfates, but I felt that as ombre blonde I might actually benefit from using those. My hair color did not change dramatically, but having so many nourishing ingredients on board the color definitely become deeper. Needless to say, I completely forgot about freezy hair as the effect those products done on my hair remind me the one I achieved with keratin containing products.
Pro: A combination of six oils (argan, chamomile, coconut, amla, soja, and sunflower) deeply nourishes your hair with every wash. Also, the products smell very good!
Con: Both products are not sulfate-free and contain sodium laurel sulfate. Those products are not organic or natural.
This product is my favorite from the line as it is a real multitasker. I used it for styling—to make my hair even more soft and manageable. I also applied it at night and before going to the gym as a restorative treatment. In each and every situation the product worked fabulously!
It was not the first L’Oreal serum treatment that I tried (I used L’Oreal’s frizz taming serum for a while), but it’s definitely my favorite one. Lightweight and fast-absorbing, it’s a deep treatment solution that makes my hair super shiny. I never used it for those days when I am wearing my hair curly, but the product works perfectly for straight and wavy styles.
Pro: Deeply restores hair and removes the freeze. Bonus: it could be used as a night treatment.
Con: Might be too greasy if you use too much of a product.
Have you tried any products from L’Oreal’s Extraordinary Oil line? What was your impression?
Disclosure: I received those products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. #ExtraordinaryHair
