I don’t know about you guys, but I try not to imitate Sharon Stone’s Leg Cross while getting out of the car. Especially in summer when I often wear mini dresses or skirts and high heels. Leaving the car gracefully is an art, and today I will give you some tips on how to do it without showing too much.
First and the most important thing is to prepare your skirt before you open the door of the car. If you are wearing a short skirt, pull it down as much as you can. If the skirt is medium length or maxi, move it towards the center of the car (meaning towards a passenger seat if you are driving). Open the door only after you are done with this step.
Another trick is to open the door as much as you can so you have enough room for your legs when you are getting out. When the door is open, quickly move both legs and stop for a second. Take your time to make a little turn and find a right spot to put your hand behind you. Then, with the help of that hand slightly push yourself out of the car while trying to keep your head down (so you don’t hit your head). Again, slightly pull your skirt down when you are out of the car and you are all set.
One more important question is whether to wear your high heels while driving. Personally, I always drive barefoot and put my shoes back on only when I am ready to get out of the car. Some people say that driving barefoot is dangerous. I will object that those people probably never tried to drive wearing six-inch Louboutins — I believe that it could be more dangerous than texting while driving. I know that some girls keep a pair of flats for days when they are wearing pumps and drive, but I haven’t try on this trick yet.
I wonder how do you manage driving while wearing high heels?
