One of the most exciting events that happened to me this New York Fashion Week was an intimate lunch with Vogue and Anne Klein that I posted about on my Instagram. It was the first time ever I had a chance to interact with the creative staff of the iconic publication so I wanted to wear something very special. A uniquely designed dress by Black Halo seemed like a perfect match for the occasion, so I paired it with my feather sandals and a simple box clutch.
As expected, the lunch was served with the elegance and class that represents the essence of this iconic fashion publication. Everything from decorations to menus and seat arrangements was thoughtfully planned and tastefully implemented. While I felt a bit nervous (it’s Vogue, with a capital V!), my outfit received a few compliments that put me at ease. I was pleasantly surprised that my floral dress also received attention from street style photographers when I attended a few NYFW shows after the Vogue event.
Enjoying a wonderful time with Anne Klein and Vogue teams, I was thinking about the first issue of Russian Vogue that inspired me many years ago to become a journalist. Believe it or not, I still have that issue of a magazine in my house as it represents everything I’m hoping on achieving professionally as a writer. Yes, the brand as I knew it back in Russia evolved and changed with the evolution of social media, but the meaning that stands behind it is still the same. For me, Vogue would always be synonymous to elegance, intelligence, and chic.
