This season I’m all about primary colors: red, blue, white, yellow… My summer wardrobe reminds me an artist palette, where all the hues are really popping and bright. To be quite honest, it was not always like that for me. Like many other girls looking for the colors that match their complexion, I’ve been through phases when I tried each and every color glossy magazine announces as an “it color” of the season only to figure out that those don’t quite work for me.
I think I became wiser with age because those days I’m much more cautious about the color palette of my clothes. I went through periods where I wore pastel colors and looked completely washed out and all black clothes periods where all of my outfits looked pretty much the same. Finally, I was able to find a few colors that seemed to work with seemingly every piece of clothes… and I got nuts about purchasing clothes in those colors.
I can’t recall exactly when my obsession with red dresses begun, but it’s obvious that the majority dresses in my collection are those coming in different shades of red. Some people might find a flame red shade a bit intimidating—it surely emphasizes any skin imperfections that you might have – but for me, this bright color feels so uniquely me and even… neutral! Somehow it really works with my pale skin and dark hair, especially if I combine it with a matching shade of a red lipstick.
Looking at this gorgeous red lace dress by VIPme.com, I’m thinking that it’s probably a tenth red lace dress in my collection that joined my wardrobe during the last year or so. However, how could you say ‘no’ to this delicate creation? Made out of two-tone custom floral red lace with A-line skirt and a plunging neckline, this figure flattering dress is so gorgeous that I can’t get enough of it! My favorite thing about this dress is that it creates an effect of bare skin, while you don’t flash anything as this midi dress is fully lined with a beige elastic fabric. Saying so, you could wear it with or without a bra and don’t be afraid that it looks too revealing.
Enough with my new red dress, how about this awesome lego-style heart clutch? If you remember my coverage of last week’s InStyle event, I styled this bag with a little black dress and it received major compliments from my blogger friends. I’ve been totally in love with it too, as the clutch looks so cute, whimsical, and girly! Either you are wearing on your shoulder or in your hands—tons of compliments are guaranteed! Saying so, expect this bag to pop up on the blog often!
