It’s not an easy task to find a perfect holiday gift for a person you really care about. When there are so many options available, nothing seems personal enough. Of course, there are billions of monogrammed gift options (such as these pretty PJs, this cashmere blanket, and this personalized tote), but I don’t like to repeat myself and pick monogrammed gifts every year. This season, I decided to pick a personalized charm bracelet, and so far, I think it’s one of the best holiday gift options available. These are sentimental, incredibly adorable, and fun to style. Today I am collaborating with Soufeel and share with you some of my tips on how to pick a perfect holiday charm bracelet.
#1: Select a topic for your charm collection. For instance, since I picked a bracelet for my mom, I decided to concentrate on all the fun winter activities that we did together when I was young. I loved skating—so a skates charm was number one on my list. It’s hard to believe now, but I was one of those girls who organized children for hours-long snow battles—so here comes a snowflake and mittens (because nobody wants to get cold in the middle of the snow fight!). Another guilty winter pleasure my mom and I enjoyed sharing together was a cup of warm, sweet cocoa—I was happily surprised to find one of those in Soufeel’s collection. Finally, every winter, we celebrated two holidays that were important for me: New Year’s and my birthday—that’s the reason behind the gift box charm.
#2: Another topic selection idea is to dedicate a charm bracelet to a city that is important for a person you are picking charms for. For instance, I put together a collection of charms dedicated to Paris. I love everything French and it was one of the most rewarding projects I worked on.
#3: Here is a list of recommendations you might want to explore while picking your charms:
1. Hobbies. For instance, for a fashionista you can pick the following charms: lipstick, photo camera, and a shopping bag.
2. Pets. For instance, a cat lady might enjoy having a cat charm in her collection, or even a photo of her pet in a heart shaped photo charm.
3. Food. If you know what type of cuisine your friend enjoys, you can put together a foodie charm bracelet featuring her favorite snacks. For instance, this adorable strawberry charm or this cute coffee cup could become a perfect addition to a collection of charms you are putting together.
#4: Pick charms of different lengths and shapes. It’s just my personal preference, but I like making my charm bracelet more fun by picking charms with details attached. For instance, this cute mittens charm has a mini mitten extension that really stands out among the rest of the charms in my collection. I also love the fact that my gift box charm has a secret inside. When you open the top of the box, you can see a heart-shaped Swarovski crystal inside. Isn’t it adorable?
#5: Make sure your bracelet is long enough, otherwise it might be difficult to close it. My mom and I have very tiny wrists, so I picked an 18-centimeter (7.1. inch) bracelet that fits me perfectly and hopefully works for her too. If you don’t know the person’s wrist size, I do recommend going for a larger size just in case. Also, keep in mind that the bracelet size will seem smaller when you put all your charms on it.
#6: Don’t be afraid to mix silver and gold charms in one set. I didn’t find that many 14K gold charms on Soufeel’s website, but I already had my eye on this amazing clover charm. Perhaps I’ll use it for a floral charms set that I’m also considering picking as a holiday present for another close friend of mine.
#7: Finally, don’t wait too long to order the charms you love. The sales on Soufeel websites don’t last forever, so you need to make sure to order the charms you love are in stock.
I hope you enjoyed my tips and tricks for finding the perfect charm bracelets for those you love. I’m wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season!
