I recently did an audit of my wardrobe and came to the conclusion that I don’t have many basic pieces. When you treat each piece of clothing that you own as art, the basics seem almost too boring to wear. However, every once in a while I enjoy pulling out a basic piece and mixing it up with a trendy one. This floral handkerchief skirt combined with a basic monochrome black tank makes a versatile outfit that you can dress up or down depending on the situation.

I like mixing basics with trendy pieces too! You can never go wrong 🙂 I love that pretty skirt and all of the colors in it! So chic!

    • Exactly! And you do such a great job on mixing patterns, dear Megan! Enjoy your trip to Florida and keep us posted on how it goes via Instagram! xoxo

I have that trouble in my closet too…too many “interesting” pieces and not as many “basics.” Ahhh, the struggles of a fashion blogger! I decided it doesn’t matter if I wear the same “basic” piece over and over though, because no one really “sees” it! jodie

    • I totally understand you, Jodie! For me, buying a piece of clothing is like buying an artwork. You want it to be very-very special. However, some simple pieces could be very artsy and beautiful too. So now I am actually 50/50 on interesting/basics. Xoxo

  • I’m the complete opposite of you, Katya. My wardrobe is filled with basic pieces, it’s failsafe and I don’t have to rack my brain on what to wear because all looks similar. LOL! I do love this handkerchief skirt, it’s a gorgeous unique piece and you look stunning in it.

    • Well, at least such approach saves you time, right? ;)) I used to be into basics too but something changed recently and I am all into florals….mixed with florals…topped with florals… LOL Thanks for your sweet comment, dear Shireen! Have a nice day! Xoxo

  • Such great pieces! I adore this skirt on you! You look gorgeous! XO

I love basics colors that are cut into more dramatic styles. I need to branch out into more colorful patterns. Mixing in my basics with a pattern seems like a good way to start! 🙂 Wonderful as always!

    • Thanks, Amanda! If you ask me, I would recommend starting with just one floral piece and wear it with your favorite basic clothes. Florals are super trendy this season and are not difficult at all to style. Again, I really appreciate all of your support. Have a wonderful day, dear! Xoxox

I love the pattern and then hemline of that skirt!
