365 Masks Challenge Week 7

Miss de Gaspe Purify Purge Anti-Pollution Mask Review

This week, my skin started breaking out on my forehead and my chin, so I applied some of my favorite detoxifying masks. I also tried a few unique masks like a dry sheet mask by Nanenne de Gaspe and a spray hair mask by IGK Hair. These two masks received the most comments from the 365 Masks Challenge community so if you are looking for a cool mask experience, definitely consider checking them out. As a reminder, I look forward to seeing your #365MasksChallenge entries on Instagram and Stories. Rememeber: this project is not only about masks, but also about as women feeling confident while appearing on social media without makeup. Let’s continue taking care of ourselves and inspire each other!

Miss de Gaspe Purify + Purge Anti-Pollution Mask

From all the masks I tested last week, this one was the most unique. First of all, it’s a dry sheet mask which means that it feels like wearing a piece of fabric on your skin. Second of all, it’s a multi-purpose mask so you could reuse it up to 5 times, depending on the condition of your skin. Finally, it was that rare occasion when I felt that the mask worked even more efficient hours and days after I applied it. Meaning, that the active ingredients penetrated so deeply into my skin that it felt more hydrated and purified after the mask was off. For real, this mask is such a miracle!

The Promise: “Our mission is accomplished in 4 simple steps: remove, repair, strengthen and protect. Say goodbye to imperfections, clogged pores and buildup and hello to clear, purified and energized skin.”

Active Ingredients: White charcoal, Marrubio, and Shea Butter.

Price Point: $39 for 1 mask (up to 5 uses) at MissGaspe.com.

Masque Bar Gold Foil Peel-Off Mask - Review

Masque Bar Gold Foil Peel-Off Mask

This perfectly instagrammable mask is a part of brand’s latest foil mask collection that contains both sheet and liquid masks. I did a survey on Stories and my Instagram friends picked this gold peel-off mask for review. As you probably already know, I have a sweet spot for metallic masks and I truly enjoyed this new launch as it looked cute in photos and made my skin feel so refreshed. Even though the mask didn’t come off in one piece, it was a fun product to test. Also, how cool are the photos using the KiraKira+ filter with this mask on!

The Promise: “Gold Foil peel-off mask is enriched with fruit extracts to help moisturize and revitalize your skin.”

Active Ingredients: Raspberry Fruit Extract, Grapefruit Fruit Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil.

Price Point: $7.99 for 2.37 oz. at CVS.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask Review

Garnier Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask

I remember being obsessed with the heating mask by the brand back in the day and this sheet mask is my new favorite. It has everything you could expect from a perfect sheet mask and even more! It deeply hydrates your skin, preps it for makeup, and fits perfectly fits your face. As a side bonus, it’s super affordable and you could find it at most of the pharmacies!

The Promise: “This water-based sheet mask with Hyaluronic Acid, an ingredient naturally found in skin, floods skin with intense, weightless hydration.”

Active Ingredients: Pomegranate extract and hyaluronic acid.

Price Point: $3.99 for 1 mask at Ulta.

Patchology Restoring Night CloudMasque review

Patchology Restoring Night Cloud Overnight Mask

I’ve been a big fan of sheet masks and eye patches by the brand, but I never tried any of their liquid masks. I have dehydrated skin though so this gentle overnight mask seemed like a great winter skin solution for my skin. As expected, the results were impressive: soft, deeply hydrated skin overnight. Ever since that mask testing, I keep a jar of this overnight mask in my bathroom—for the days when I overdid with makeup and need some extra overnight skin restoration.

The Promise: “Provides intense moisture to your skin while targeting the visible signs of aging.”

Active Ingredients: Retinol, hyaluronic acid, and 17 plant extracts.

Consistency: Cream.

Price Point: $40 for 1 oz at DermStore.com.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser-Mask Review

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser-Mask

I already wrote about this 2-in-1 product when we talked about multi-purpose beauty products to bring on vacation, but this time around I used it not as a cleanser but as a mask. As you probably noticed, my skin started breaking out like crazy so I dedicated this 365 Masks Challenge week for testing detoxifying and clay masks as these are known to be healing acne faster. This Neutrogena mask is one of the best drugstore options for acne-prone skin as it contains Salicylic Acid and Kaolin Clay that are so perfect for healing breakouts faster.

The Promise: “This two-in-one facial cleanser and face mask targets 100% impurities while help preserving skin’s essential moisture.”

Active Ingredients: Salicylic Acid 0.5%.

Consistency: Cream, foamy with the contact with water.

Price Point: $7.39 for 4.2 oz at Target.

IGK Prenup Instant Spray Hair Mask review

IGK Prenup Instant Spray Hair Mask

The brand was also known for its unique approach toward designing hair products, but the idea of a spray mask totally blew my mind! You still need to use your hands to distribute the product all over your hair, but it’s all worth it as the mask is so nourishing and smoothing!

The Promise: “An in-shower, spray-on hair treatment that works quickly to deliver the same hydration and benefits of a traditional hair mask.”

Active Ingredients: Amla Oil and Cupuacu Butter.

Consistency: Spray, lotion-like consistency.

Price Point: $32 for 4 oz/ 112 ml at Sephora.

Pharmagel Nutra-Lift Facial Masque review

Pharmagel Nutra-Lift Facial Masque

Even though this mask is known for its anti-aging purposes, I felt that it provided detoxifying effect too. Looking into the ingredient list, I found Kaolin Clay and Vitamin C which ensured that my skin felt clarified and brightened. I also loved that it contained Vitamin E so my skin didn’t feel dehydrated after using the mask. It was not the first time for me trying this mask, but it never fails me by lifting and clarifying my skin.

The Promise: “Nutra-Lift is a quick drying, facial firming kaolin clay-based masque containing vitamins and humectants that help skin appear lifted and smoothed.”

Active Ingredients: Glycolic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin E, and stabilized Vitamin C.

Consistency: Clay mask.

Price Point: $37 for 6.0 oz./ 170 g at Pharmagel.net.
