Best Books About Beauty and Fashion

Usually, I am planning my vacation outfits way ahead of time, but when it comes to books I download them on my Kindle Paperwhite the night before the flight.

This year, I decided to plan my vacation reads in advance and put together a list of books I’ll be downloading for my upcoming trip. All of the books on this list are beauty and fashion related.

Garance Dore - book review

Love Style Life by Garance Dore

This is the most anticipated book written by one of my favorite bloggers. Garance Dore is a talented writer, illustrator, and a business lady that inspired so many women across the globe.

I can’t wait to read about her story of making it in the fashion world.

book review - Face Paint: The Story of Makeup by Lisa Eldridge

Face Paint: The Story of Makeup by Lisa Eldridge

I am addicted to Lisa’s makeup tutorials on YouTube and I can’t wait to head her invaluable advice on paper.

Makeup is an important part of my life and I am ready to explore the history of ‘face paint’ in full.

book review - Fashion Designer Survival Guide by Mary Gehlhar

Fashion Designer Survival Guide by Mary Gehlhar

I believe it’s important for bloggers to understand the other side of a fashion business. That’s why I am planning to educate myself on the subject of promoting an emerging fashion line.

My friend Kat recommended this book to me and I definitely trust her taste.

Color Your Style: How to Wear Your True Colors by David Zyla

Color Your Style: How to Wear Your True Colors by David Zyla

I just finished David’s new book, How to Win at Shopping, and I am looking forward to catch up with his first printed work.

I’ll Drink to That by Betty Halbreich

I’ll Drink to That by Betty Halbreich

I’ve heard so many wonderful reviews on this book and I can’t wait to learn a story of New York’s most famous personal shopper.

Since 1978 Halbreich has been helping New York’s socialites with personal style at Bergdorf Goodman, and I am sure there are many exciting stories that she has to share.

book review - Tales from the Back Row by Amy Odell

Tales from the Back Row by Amy Odell

If you are a fashion insider and attend at least some of the New York Fashion Week shows, this book is a must-read.

Written by Cosmopolitan.com editor Amy Odell, it provides a glimpse of what is really happening behind the scenes of a glossy magazine world.

book review - Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion by Elizabeth L. Cline

Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion by Elizabeth L. Cline

I downloaded a sample of this book about a year ago but never had a chance to read it in full.

Based on a book preview, it is an important read as it evaluates the costs of low priced clothing.

I hope this post will make your perfect vacation book search easier. I also look forward to hearing if you already read any of the books on this list.

I haven’t read any of these but they sound great, I have a feeling I may have Love Style Life hidden somewhere in my book cupboard as well and I just haven’t read it yet.
