Day in My Life: NYFW Edition

New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off and this season I decided to take you on a slightly different NYFW with me. A lot of you guys asked how my day looks like in between the show so here comes a roundup of all the things that stand out for me during the first day of NYFW.

7:00 pm – Look #1: Red, White, and Blue

The first outfit of the day is rather casual… If wearing sequins before 7:00 am is considered “casual” in your book too. I picked the biggest bag I have in my collection so I can pack all the stuff I need as well as makeup that I could apply on the go. In case you wonder, signature red I’m rocking in the a.m. is Chanel Rouge Allure in 104 Passion.

8:00 am – Coffee at the Culture

Regardless how many hours I had to sleep, a HAVE to have a good cup of coffee. It’s essential! Since my first appointment was in Midtown, I decided to stop by at my favorite coffee spot, the Culture, for a cup of almond latte. Culture Espresso is located just a few blocks away from “the tents” and it’s a must visit spot if you are into high-quality caffeine. Also, their to-go cups are super photogenic!

9:00 am – Skin Tightening Treatment by Viora

Even though I’ve been working out like crazy prior to my beach vacation I could still use some skin tightening on certain problematic areas. To jump start my vacation preparation, I tried the anti-cellulite treatment by Viora. It’s a non-invasive laser treatment that targets all the difficult parts and improves the appearance of skin so it looks more smooth and tight. In comparison to many other procedures that I tried, this one was painless and even enjoyable. I can’t find any other metaphors to describe it, but it feels like hot stone massage — super relaxing and not weird feeling at all!

11:00 am – The Art of Caviar by La Prairie

The iconic brand La Prairie presented their moving exposition dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the revolutionary Skin Caviar Collection. The event space was transformed into an interactive space where a sculpture of magnetic “caviar” coexisted with the laser installation alluding to the meditative vibes of suspense cinematography.

1:00 pm – Lunch at Le Botaniste

One of the rare spots in the City that offers both vegan and gluten-free options, this Upper East Side apothecary-inspired cafe Le Botaniste is one of the hidden gems where you could enjoy healthy artisan bowls and disconnect from the craziness of the fashion week.

3:30 pm – Makeup Update

My second look required a bolder makeup statement so I opted in for a dark burgundy liquid lipstick (Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet in Bright Plum). This matte formula is non-drying and so luxurious – what a perfect match for my designer dress! Nighttime also requires a fragrance update and I chose Cartier Baiser Fou which is an elegant reference to lily flower scent.

4:30 pm – Look #2: Kaleidoscope of Colors

The second look of the day was all about color – which is so typical for me. I put on a kaleidoscope-print dress by Saloni and paired it with my go-to stripe purse by Sophie Hulme. For shoes, I continued with my morning style as these velvet platforms happened to deliver the unexpected level of comfort.

5:30 pm – New Product Launch by Zo Skincare

Exploring new products by Zo Skincare and playing with the newly launched Instant Pore Refiner, I met all my favorite blogger friends: Mariann, Kimmy and Wafaa. We had our skin analyzed, grabbed cocktails, and enjoyed a fabulous view from the New Museum Sky Room. One day later I learned that I won in a ruffle the Mansur Gavriel bag – I was beyond thrilled!

7:00 pm – By Terry Presentation at Space NK

My last beauty transformation of the day happened at the Space NK where with the help of the By Terry brand ambassadors I tested all the new launches by the brand. If you haven’t heard about By Terry Compact Expert Dual Powder you are missing out! It’s one of the most versatile and beautiful compacts out there, delivering both matte and dewy finishes that you need to achieve a perfect look while on the go. I also spotted a new favorite concealer that doesn’t look dry underneath the eyes as it contains skincare-grade ingredients.

By the way,  Space NK just launched the “Autumn Beauty Edit” promotion so it’s a perfect time to pick up some of your favs from the new By Terry line and score a complimentary bag of beauty products that are worth over $500 (limited time only; eligible on orders $275+). The campaign starts runs both in stores and online.

8:30 pm – Cocktails with the View

Together with Kimmy and other girls, we went out for drinks and snacks at the Jimmy Soho. Relaxing at one of the NYC’s hot spots, we talked all things beauty – from figuring out the proper way to apply a self-tanning lotion (I need to work more towards this direction!) to all the best makeup launches. In case you wonder what’s the new hottest launch for me, it’s a new Kevyn Aucoin concealer that I can’t stop raving about!

11:00 pm – Next Day Prep

According to the NYFW standards, the evening finished early for me. I had a few meetings and events scheduled for the next morning, not to mention a 9:00 am workout, so after a few valuable moments with my family (a puppy and a boyfriend) I took off. It was an intense, but fabulous day and I’m excited to see what else this fashion week brings to my life.
