You’ll be surprised but I’m not that into blow drying my hair. While I use a hair dryer on a regular basis, I solely rely on a flat iron to create my signature “straight hair with inwards looking ends” look. I have naturally straight hair but it does take an effort to get rid of all the frizz on top of my hair crown. Luckily, with the right tools creating my signature hair “do” does not take too long time. In this post, I share with you my step-by-step everyday hair styling routine.
STEP #1 // Use a Heat Protector
For many years, I neglected this step and as a result of my hair really struggled. Out of nowhere, I started noticing split ends and the entire situation with the lower part of my hair didn’t look great. After speaking with a few hair stylists and conducting my online research, I concluded that it was all about using a heat protecting spray. These days I never start blow drying my hair without applying a heat protecting product first. I can’t say that my hair dramatically changed after adding that extra step in my everyday hair care routine, but I noticed that I need to cut my hair less often if I’m being consistent with using a heat protecting spray.

STEP #2 // Good Vibrations
The next step of my daily hairstyling routine is to use a one-inch hair straightener. I used to pick wider flat irons until I realized that it’s harder to achieve a perfect ends curl. I recently switched my regular flat iron to BeautopiaHair VibraStrait Pro 1” Flat Iron and it really works! At first, it felt a bit strange that this straightener vibrates while you are using it. But I shortly figured what a difference such flat iron feature made—it takes just a moment to turn my unruly hair into a sleek hairdo.
Usually, I don’t spend time sectioning my hair and just go from one side of my face towards the back and then another side. Sometimes when I don’t have a moment to style my hair I’ll just go quickly through the top layer of my hair and only curl the pieces that are close to my face.
STEP #3 // Finish with a Spray
Finally, I always apply a hairspray starting from the ends and moving towards the roots. That way, I ensure that the curl stays in place while the crown of my hair doesn’t look too perfect. I also often use just a texturizing spray if I want to have a less refined look and opt-in for a messier hair finish.

Please keep in mind that if you are looking for a messy hair look, start from the roots and move towards the ends and then massage your scalp after applying a product. It also works if you decide to use both: texturizing spray for the roots and a hair spray for the ends.

There you have it: my step-by-step everyday hair routine. If you follow my blog for a while, you know that I’m one of those girls who can spend two hours perfecting her makeup, but when it comes to hair styling, 15 minutes is all I can handle. Saying so, it’s easy to understand why my hair styling routine is so simple. I just figured what works the best with the shortest amount of time possible.
I look forward to hearing your feedback on these tips. Also, please let me know in the comments what is your approach to styling your hair? Are you a low or high maintenance kind of person when it comes to hair?
