How Much Lace Is Too Much?

It might be a bit off the season for my readers from New York, but I packed this white lace dress with me on vacation and I really feel like sharing my thoughts about it. Ben took photos of me wearing this dress this summer in the Hamptons, but somehow these have never been published on the blog. I was thinking that since I’m wearing the dress in Florida anyways, why not sharing these images with you guys? Especially because this cute lace dress is still available at Neiman Marcus (in all sizes).

Knowing about my addiction to all things girly, you’ll understand why this dress has such a special place in my heart. I just loooooveee lace dresses so much, regardless which color they are coming in. Here is a little secret for you: I’ve been going through my wardrobe while packing for our vacation in Florida and I was shocked how many lace items I have in my collection. It was lace after lace after lace piece in all imaginable shades.

While I did spend a lot of time (and money) putting together my lace collection, I feel that it’s finally time to move on towards other cool trends. For instance, velvet—it looks so stylish, not to mention that it’s so easy to style and to take care of. Or stripe clothes—the trend seems to be making a major comeback this spring. Or khaki colored pieces—military chic is getting even stronger this season. In other words, I’m definitely setting the goal to diversify my wardrobe a bit in 2017!

What do you think guys? Is it a thing to have too many clothes of a similar fabric? How would you solve this style dilemma? Please let me know in the comments area below!

  • You look gorgeous, Katya! I love lace too, it’s one of my favorite fabrics because it’s feminine and timeless. Lace never goes out of fashion. I have a couple pieces that are all lace: a top and a dress, that’s it. The rest of my lace collection comes in details, like the hem of a top for example. That way I don’t get tired of it.

Looking great in these photos! That clutch you are holding in the first picture is so cute, I want one for my own. As far as your question, well, I am a big girl, so I have too many 2XL T-Shirts. I have a dozen or so from my former employer. I got them for free and I just can’t part with them! They are so comfortable and haven’t shrunk in the washer or drier over the past 2+ years. My spouse also tells me I have too many sneakers, but I just keep getting more. Once I get my red Vans HiTops, I will stop, I swear 🙂

Thanks for such a fun blog post and for just being #fabulous each day! Have a good one.

  • This is an absolutely stunning look on you!

  • Is there such a thing as too much lace? Love this dress! I’ve been looking for something like this for ages. So elegant.

This post is GORG. and so are you! I don’t think one can ever have too much lace if you’re wearing it right 😉
