There is a big controversy about wearing white that is happening around Memorial Day. You probably already know that in my book white is always an option. The question is: Is it okay to wear black in the summer? Growing up in Russia, I was taught that bold colors and floral prints are created for summer, while black pieces had a bad reputation for not being summery enough. Even though I never followed that advice directly, subconsciously I avoided the color black… because it felt too hot to wear in the summer. As it turned out, a good silk LDB (especially this one featuring long mesh sleeves) is as perfect as it could be for any weather. It’s versatile, always appropriate, and just fun to wear—not to mention that it will standout among everyone’s colorful summery looks. So if you ask me whether black is a new black for summer, I’ll definitely say yes. I’m totally doing it!
