To be quite honest, I’m not the biggest fan of attending NYFW in winter. Every time I’m making the effort of hassling through the cold weather and delayed Uber rides, I always get sick. And there is nothing more annoying when you have so much work to catch up on after NYFW, but you are in bed with a fever.
This season, I felt a bit different about the whole fashion week thing though. Since we spend almost a month in Miami and got a proper rest before NYFW started, my winter NYFW avoidance was non-existent. I figured that if you only attend a few events per day as opposed to trying to squeeze as many as you can, NYFW in February is totally doable.
Also, lucky for me and other NYC fashionistas, at the beginning of the fashion week, the weather seemed to collaborate with us.
In today’s roundup, I’m not going to dive into the shows and trends from NYFW (let me know in the comments though if you want a roundup on those though!). Instead, I’ll provide just a quick snapshot on some of the looks I wore for NYFW.
NYFW Day 1
On the first day of NYFW, I felt like wearing something super colorful and fun so opted in for some of my recent purchases from Alice and Olivia. The rainbow fringe jacket and stripe skirt, combined with a heart-shaped bag seemed to be everyone’s favorite so I got photographed for quite a few publications, including The Cut and L’Officiel.
NYFW Day 2
The next day, my blogging buddy Kevin Benejam and I got styled by the brand to attend Artistix show. Since we were wearing matching jackets by Artistix we organized an entire photo shoot out of this occasion. And while my conclusion was that silk jumpsuits don’t photograph well when it’s too windy, I’m totally loving how this photo shoot came out. Thumbs up to a super talented Victoria Saperstein.
NYFW Day 3
Saturday morning, my bestie SJ and I attended Elle Magazine x Allergan event, so I decided to dress semi-casual. Even though I was wearing crystal OTK boots that are way too extra to be qualified under “casual look” the rest of the ensemble was pretty neutral.
NYFW Day 4
ON Sunday, we spend an almost entire day taking photos with Anya @lnestyle. She has the most impressive sense of style you’d ever encounter not to mention her natural beauty. We collaborated with a talented photographer Craig Arend to create these adorable #girlsquad pics. And if you love our curls it’s all courtesy of Redken.
NYFW Day 5
On day 5 of NYFW, the weather took a dramatic turn. It was snowing all day and the wet snow almost completely destroyed my makeup. But when I met my friend Lara @PrettyConnected for coffee my mood immediately elevated, and we ended up jumping through the puddles and having so much fun! Needless to say, my new dress from the going out dresses section by Quiz Clothing was perfect as it perfectly floated during the jump!
NYFW Day 6
I skipped all the events that day as on Wednesdays I’m spending the majority of my day in college, but I still wanted to share an extra look that I photographed a few days before. It’s a snakeskin dress that I paired with my new Altuzarra belt. It’s quite a simple look but I wanted to share it as the animal print is still going strong this season. Also, how cute is SJ in her leopard print jumpsuit?
NYFW Day 7
Finally, on Valentine’s Day, I repeated the look that I photographed the week before. Can we talk about this cozy pink dress? It was super comfy and perfectly matched my new favorite suede hat. Also, pink and red are my favorite colors for Valentine’s Day, so the match was perfect!
