Review: YSL Faux Cils Mascara

Blogger Review YSL Faux Cils Mascara

If you ask me what would be the only beauty product that I can’t live without, I would probably answer… mascara. I know, red lipstick is my signature look, but there are certain situations when red lipstick is simply inappropriate (for instance, in the gym). However, the good thing about mascara is that you can wear it everywhere (even on the beach!) and for any occasion.

Review YSL Faux Cils Mascara

Even though mascara is a necessity for me, I can’t use just any mascara. I wear contact lenses and my eyes are very sensitive. For this reason I am quite picky when choosing proper eye product. For starters, it must be hyper allergenic. Also, I love mascaras that I can take off without using eye makeup remover (I prefer washing my face with gentle cleanser and then remove the leftovers with organic oil such as avocado or grape seed oil). And, of course, my mascara should smell good. In my opinion, there is nothing worse than a smell of oil paint that some mascara reminds me (I start sneezing immediately!).

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils review 2

Recently, I found another amazing mascara that I immediately added to my permanent collection, YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (c/o). In fact, the mascara “found” me because a popular beauty bloggers platform Influenster provided this beauty product for me to try. I am a long-term fan of YSL mascaras, and this new product continues the best traditions of this luxurious brand. Even though the mascara claims to simply add volume, I believe that it does much more. It separates the lashes and without simply gluing them together. In addition, it smells delicious and looks so pretty.

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Review

You probably wonder how this product differs from other mascaras by Yves Saint Lauren. I honestly didn’t notice the difference except the shape of the brush. Prior to trying Faux Cils Mascara I was using YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking on a daily basis (I also love YSL Babydoll that I reviewed here) and I feel that those products are very similar. In fact, if you ask me to pick just one I would not be able to decide which one is better (both of them are great!). I personally feel that my confidence skyrockets when I apply this luxurious beauty treasure.

What is your selling point while picking mascara?

  • This sounds like a lovely mascara! I’ve been meaning to try out a YSL mascara for a long time, as I love all their other products – especially their Fusion Ink foundation. I’ll have to keep an eye out for this!

    • I also love YSL products, but never tried their foundation. Have you ever tried YSL lipsticks? Those are incredible too!

  • Charline Steuckers

Oooh, it looks lovely! I never owned any of the YSL mascaras. I do agree on you on the smell. When it smells very painty, I don’t like it right away; I’ve got the Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara (the limited edition one of a few years ago xAlber Elbaz) and it smells of roses!! That’s bloody genius 🙂

This looks like a good mascara! I will have to try it!

  • YSL mascaras seems to be really good, I have read many good reviews on them. I haven’t purchase any yet but it’s definitely on my list to try.

  • The best lipstick I’ve ever tried was YSL. So, I’m sure this is fantastic. And I love the gorgeous tube.

I have an obsession with YSL products!

    God bless,

Thanks for this, I’ll be sure to check this YSL mascara, my lashes are ridiculously short but this product might help a little 🙂 Love, Kirsten xx

    • Thank You for reading! Give it a try, it is really one of the best mascaras around. I actually love all YSL mascaras so whichever you try you won’t regret. Xoxo

  • Oh, wonderful! I’m definitely going to have to check this mascara out! Thanks for the tip 🙂

I am in the market for a new mascara! I will have to try this YSL one out. I have been using Urban Decay for a while and it is always nice to mix it up!

    • This one is really a good one! I tried Urban Decay too, but was not as impressed as with YSL. Agreed, it’s the best to mix your makeup favorites up!

  • YSL packaging is always so pretty! I’m always up for trying new mascaras, this sounds fab.

I just started to stock up on mascaras. I am never any good with makeups, so I rarely do beauty posts. But I will give this a check 🙂

I never had a mascara from YSL yet as I’m always using my MAC one. But I’m definitely thinking about giving it a try

  • Maxcebycecilej

It’s the perfect mascara! I tend to alternate between this and the Dior one <3

    Love from France!

    Bisous <3!

  • I like Estee Lauder’s mascaras. They are really nice and don’t smudge. This is one of the things I look for in a mascara. It is also very important that it doesn’t stick my lashes together, I love natural looks. 🙂

    Purely Me by Denina Martin

  • Great review 🙂 I hate it when mascaras smell weird too! The selling point for me is how long lasting and waterproof it is, as I live in a tropical climate and anything thats not 100% waterproof runs down my face

  • Carly

Great review! I love mascara too, but I definitely couldn’t live without pink lipstick

  • Sounds like a great product. I have the YSL Babydoll mascara and really like it for length. I also love the scent in the YSL mascaras. Shame you don’t really notice much of a difference between this one and the other YSL mascaras, though. I would still have enjoyed seeing a photo of you with and without the mascara to help me see how it looks on. xx
