Warm summer days are great for your soul, but not so cool for your hair. UV rays, salt water, and humidity could really take a toll on your hair “do”, leading to freezy, unmanageable curls. Luckily, there are a few new haircare products designed to help you with any hair problem in your book. Today, we are discussing the top 5 tested by me personally.
This after-sun hair treatment that I discovered through the #365MasksChallenge quickly replaced my regular hair conditioner. The reason is simple. It only takes a minute to apply, but it works better than your typical 20 minutes wait time hair treatment. The product is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. It’s designed to protect your hair from the damaging effects of the sun, pool, and saltwater — including natural UVA/UVB protection that comes from Sunflower seed oil. Personally, from all the benefits of this express hair treatment, I enjoyed the most that this product makes my hair easier to brush and eliminates the frizz. By the way, I’m almost done with the entire jar after traveling with this hair mask to Europe.

Talking about protecting your color-treated hair from the sun, this leave-on treatment has been my go-to after washing my hair. I’m currently having a burgundy ombre hair color that requires extra attention and care so it doesn’t turn the shade. SPF for my hair has been the most efficient way to protect my color and also help with smoothing out the frizz. I prefer spraying the product onto my damp hair before a blow-dry and re-applying if needed while on the beach.

Think about this product as of a highlighter for your hair. It’s not like your hair will be shining in the dark, but if the light reflects the right way your hair will look more vibrant and sleek. The spray is formulated with brand’s signature caviar extract and all sorts of vitamins and minerals that make this unique product more like a hair treatment than your typical shine spray. I often have this pretty bottle in my bag while shooting outdoors as it helps to control the fly-aways and make my hair more camera-friendly.

In the summer and especially on vacation I often let my hair dry on its own. During the year, I style my hair so often that having a little break seems like the right thing to do. My hair is fine and prone to frizzing though so this texturizing spray designed for air-drying hit the point for me. I spray it on as your typical leave-on treatment after washing my hair and let it air-dry. The product hardens my hair just a bit to add some shape and eliminate the frizz but still allows my hair to move. Oh, did I mention that this spray smells like a tropical paradise?

When my summer hair gets totally out of control, I search for help at the Garnier aisle. This oldie but goodie leave-in treatment has been my favorite drugstore hair products for the longest time, helping me to brush my hair when it seems impossible to brush through. As I mentioned before, I have color-treated hair that tangles like crazy even at my medium hair length. This hair treatment helps to solve the problem after just one use: I apply it onto damp hair and brushing becomes so much easier!
