I moved to the U.S. about 10 years ago, but for some reason, I never had a chance to visit California. We go to Florida every year, we are regular in other parts of the country too, but never on the West Side. Luckily for me, my affiliate network Rakuten invited me to speak at one of their events in Venice, California, so I finally had a chance to see The Golden State.
One of the most memorable experiences there was an epic boardwalk hike from Venice to Santa Monica. It was exciting to observe all the things I’ve only seen on TV: the original Muscle Beach, Santa Monica Pier, and Pacific Park. I walked down the boardwalk listening to music and laughing at things like a guy with a cardboard saying “S***y Advice $1” and “Stupid Joke $1.” When I arrived at the Pacific Park and got my sorbet ready, I learned that the park was closed for the Revolve Carnival, so I surrender and went on a restaurant hunt.
One of the first and most beautiful places that I found was Ivy At The Shore restaurant that featured an eclectic interior and fabulous floral entryway. I simply couldn’t resist shooting an outfit post featuring this springy under $100 dress by Jill by Jill Stuart and Sophia Webster accessories. A complimentary glass of champagne served as a beautiful endpoint for a fabulous day in Santa Monica.
