Tulum packing list

I just placed a huge order on Shopbop and I was thinking you’ll be interested in learning what are some of the pieces I’m planning on bringing with me to Tulum. We are heading to a wedding in Mexico next week so I’m trying to spritz my overall urban wardrobe with some new vacation pieces. In case you are looking for some springy and summery pieces too, here come my picks—with my explanations on why each particular piece is so special for me. I also shopped at other online retailer’s websites—a post featuring those items is coming up on the blog next week.

#1: Madewell Kaia Ankle Wrap Sandals (nice selection of flat sandals here). If you know me, you know that I rarely wear flats, but when I’m on vacation it’s important to have a pair of comfortable shoes on hand. Those fringe decorated sandals seem to fit most of the outfits I packed from the trip so I was thinking why not trying them out?

#2: Free People These Days Maxi Dress (all beach to lunch maxi dresses). Stripes are the biggest trend for spring 2017 and I couldn’t resist not picking up this adorable maxi dress that has boho vibes to it. I also love styling tassels and pom poms in one look so I’m excited to wear it with my new beach tote.

#3: Mar Y Sol Florence Tote (best straw bags out there). I haven’t updated my beach bags collection in a while and when I found this straw tote I simply couldn’t resist. It’s so spacious and adorable (I mean, can you even handle those cute pom poms?) that I figured it would be my go-to bag for daytime beach activities.

#4: FAITHFULL THE BRAND Avalon Shirtdress (more shirtdresses to choose from). This is perfect daytime dress that will be handy if we have any tours or trips planned while on vacation. I love how it features a rope belt—it’s such cute and stylish detail.

#5: Wildfox More Rose Sweatshirt (shop all Wildfox sweatshirts as these are everything). Since it will be a destination wedding, I believe we will be drinking lots of champagne and rose. While I’m not a drinker, this sweatshirt might be handy in case of an accidental hangover.

#6: Soludos Stripped Espadrille Sandals (all affordable espadrilles are here). The trick I learned from Ben is to purchase a few pairs of shoes that are very comfortable so you know you for sure that those will fit. Those Soludos are the shoes that I feel the most comfortable wearing on vacation so I picked this model of espadrille sandals in few different colors.

#7: SUNDRESS Violette Dress (all dresses by Sundress). I already own a mini cover-up with beaded details by the brand, but I didn’t have any maxi dresses to bring with me so I figured why not picking a piece from the brand that I already tried and love?

These are my Shopbop finds and I wonder if you have any suggestions on what items I forgot to pack. I do have flip-flops and swimsuits ready, but do you think I need a few more night out pieces? As I said, I’ve never been to Tulum before so I’ll appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
