For me, there is no better compliment for a beauty product than if you used it till the last drop. Having the opportunity to try so many different products, it rarely happens that I use up an entire jar. So when it happens, I can’t wait to share with you why exactly I loved each of my recent beauty empties. All these products are suitable for combo skin like mine — meaning: acne-prone T-zone and sensitive everywhere else. Okay, let’s dive into recent empties!
Best Serums for Combination Skin
It rarely happens that I finish a few serums at once. But this time around, that’s exactly what happened. These serums for combination skin contain different active ingredients though. I usually use the hyaluronic acid serum in the morning and Vitamin C serum at night. Even though the skin softener is not labeled as “serum,” I actually use it instead of a serum — that’s why it’s included.
PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum
By far, the best HA serum out there. It’s super lightweight, immediately absorbs into your skin, and provides an instant hydrating and smoothing effect.
It’s my second full jar of this serum, and I can’t recommend it enough!
HERO INGREDIENTS: Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide.
Obagi Medical Professional-C Serum
This serum has a consistency of oil, and it always amazes me how quickly this brightening serum refreshes the look of my skin.
I generally love Vitamin C serums, but this one is on an entirely new level — so so good! Important point: even though I avoid oil in my skincare routine as I have combo skin prone to acne, this serum never breaks me out.
HERO INGREDIENT: L-Ascorbic Acid.
IOPE Hydro Softener
This product is much more than your typical toner! It contains a boost of hyaluronic acid that will prep your skin for the upcoming serums and moisturizers.
And yes, as comes from the product’s name, it does make your skin softer.
HERO INGREDIENT: Hyaluronic Acid.
Skincare Empties for Combo Skin
In addition to serums, I finished a few other skincare products: dermatologist-recommended sunscreen and, of course, a face mask!
Fresh Beauty Sugar Face Polish
Always my favorite exfoliant that doubles up as a face mask. I usually apply it when I jump in a shower and leave it on until I’m done.
The result: refreshed skin for the entire day!
HERO INGREDIENT: Brown Sugar and Real Wild Strawberries.
SkinMedica Essential Defense SPF 47 Sunscreen
It took me forever to find a high-SPF level cream that will work for my sensitive, acne-prone skin…
And this is the one, and only that doesn’t cause breakouts. I highly recommend it!
HERO INGREDIENTS: Zinc Oxide and Hyaluronic Acid.
Body Care Empties
Also, a few body care empties. Both are super nourishing and incredible!
Lord Jones High Body Lotion
My friend Britt from the New Beauty Magazine introduced me to this incredible neck pain relieving cream, and now I’m addicted to it.
Not only it helps to soothe the after-gym muscle pain, but also super handy for reducing the pain when you are wearing uncomfortable high heels.
HERO INGREDIENTS: CBD and Shea Butter.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
There are so many body lotions that I love, but none of them can beat the scent of this one.
It’s so delicious and… addictive!
HERO INGREDIENTS: Cupuaçu Butter and Guaraná.
There you have it: the list of some beauty products I’ve used up lately. Please tell me which products you used up this month in the comments!
