Tarte Tight and Bright Clay Multi-Mask Review

Tarte Tight Bright Mask Review and Demo

The concept of multi-masking is nothing new to the beauty world, but somehow until lately, there were not many products that provide all you need for the multi-masking routine in one jar. This season, Tarte Cosmetics launched their Tight & Bright Clay Multi-Mask that claims to be not only Insta-worthy due to the unique coloring (gold and pastel purple) but also help people with combination skin (basically, the majority of us) to balance things out. Having the most problematic skin ever, I couldn’t resist testing it out (especially because it comes in such cute packaging) so here come my thoughts on whether this mask is worth the hype.

The Claim

“A set of two vegan face masks in one jar to mix, match, and target skin concerns by tightening pores, polishing, hydrating, and brightening. Purple Detoxifying & Purifying Exfoliating Mask is perfect for the oily T-zone, this shine control mask helps tighten pores and detox your skin from the day’s pollutants. Gold Hydrating & Firming Gel Mask is ideal for dry or delicate areas like the cheeks and under the eyes. This hydrating and brightening treatment also helps calm redness and inflammation” (via Sephora).

Packaging

Incredible! It’s so beautiful and luxurious — I’ve been displaying it in my beauty room ever since I purchased the mask. I also plan on repurposing the jar after I’m done with the mask as it’s so cute!

Value

Each mask is 0.88 oz/ 25g which brings the entire set to 1.76oz / 50g. The set goes for $40 at Sephora. Compared to the majority of GlamGlow masks that are about the same size, the price point is not that high (GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment goes for $69). Also, keep in mind that you are getting two masks in one jar — it’s not that bad of a deal at all! Of course, it’s not your typical drugstore mask, but among other premium brands, the price of this Tarte mask is not high.

Texture

The purple mask has a typical clay mask texture with the only difference is that it has exfoliating beads in it. It features a fast-drying formula and it’s pleasant while applying and not tingling at all. The gold mask has thicker and more whipped consistency and is very pleasant too. I loved the fact that it featured golden pigment in it; in fact, I secretly call this mask a “liquid highlighter” — that’s how beautiful it looks and feels.

Ingredients

Both masks are vegan and formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, and are gluten-free.

Results

Amazing! Clay mask mattified my T-zone while the gold mask made my skin more illuminated and fresh-looking. While I truly enjoyed the purple mask, the gold mask was such a bomb and I’m planning on using it before important events for added skin silkiness and luminosity.

The Verdict

It’s a good one! Would highly recommend!
