One of my favorite Halloween looks that I ever tried is Harley Quinn makeup from the Suicide Squad movie. I had so much fun dressing up as Harley and Joker with my boyfriend who didn’t mind painting his hair neon green. Many of you guys asked me for Harley Quinn Halloween makeup tutorial and all of the details on the Harley Quinn costume details. So I was thinking it would be helpful if I create a step-by-step tutorial so you can recreate Harley Quinn look at home!
Before we begin, let me give you a roundup of the tools that I used to create this look. All of those items are budget-friendly and available on Amazon (+ free shipping if you are an Amazon Prime member).
I also list below all of the details on my outfit, as it was not that easy to find the exact items you need to create the Harley Quinn look as Margot Robbie played it.

How to DIY Harley Quinn’s Suicide Squad Makeup
This look is straightforward to repeat, especially if you have a basic Halloween makeup kit. You will also need a highlighter brush as it allows creating a signature Harley Quinn’s “running” eye makeup look. Also, don’t forget about a makeup setting spray if you want your makeup to last for more than a few hours.
Step 1: How to Apply a White Base
Start with white paint from your Halloween makeup kit. Apply it with a synthetic brush (I picked my favorite concealer brush by e.l.f. cosmetics) and then blend your “foundation” with a beauty sponge (I used this affordable alternative of a beauty blender).
Depending on your costume, you can cover the neck or not. Since I wore a choker, I opted out and applied a white base only on my face.
Step 2: Go for Black, Defined Brows
Fill in your brows using a black eyeshadow (mine is from Nikkie Tutorials’ The Power of Makeup palette), and your favorite angled brush (mine is from EWC Strut Boldly Collection).
Step 3: Create Harley Quinn Eyeshadow Look
Pick a red color from your Halloween makeup palette and apply it on your top and lower lid and also on the outer bottom corner of your right eye. Don’t try to make your eye makeup perfect. For Harley Quinn’s makeup, the messier you are, the better!
Use a fan brush to distribute the product towards the cheek, so you create an effect of “leaking” eye makeup.
Repeat the same on the left eye using a blue shade from your makeup kit.
Step 4: Go for Big Dramatic Lashes
Put on your favorite false lashes. I used dramatic ones by Makeup For Ever.
You might experience problems with sticking your falsies on top of the cream eyeshadow look. If so, apply a tiny amount of the same color eyeshadow close to your lash line — lash glue sticks so much better to the dry shadows!
Step 5: The Eyeliner Trick
Using a soft black eye pencil, outline the top and bottom lid. Then, using an angled brow brush, blend the product sideways and up and down to create a more messy look.
Step 6: The Heart “Tattoo”
Next — to the fun part! Using the same pencil, draw a heart on your right cheek. To make this “tattoo” pop a little more, follow up with the sketch marker eye pencil.
Step 7: Finish with the Red Lipstick
Finally, apply your favorite shade of bright red lipstick. I picked Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Dashing that features a creamy, but the long-lasting formula and doesn’t make my lips dry.

You are all set! Don’t forget to spritz your face with your favorite setting spray for long-lasting coverage.
