Too Faced Eyeshadow Palette for Holidays – Review and Swatches

Too Faced Dream Queen Make Up Collection for Holidays

If there is one brand I’m always (I mean, with no exceptions!) purchasing a palette from during the holiday season it’s Too Faced. Not only I love their formulas, but they always get me with the cutest packaging. I still use last year’s palette on a regular, and I was thrilled to have a sneak peek on the 2018 Sephora Holiday Exclusive, Too Faced Dream Queen Palette. In this post, I review and swatch this cute eyeshadow and makeup set so you can immediately put it on your wishlist. I’m not joking, it’s a must-have holiday 2018 beauty launch!

Promise

“Christmas dreams come true with this limited-edition makeup collection. Give it as an amazing gift or keep the holiday cheer for yourself!”

Packaging

The set comes in a big holiday-decorated box that features a 24-shades palette and 4 face products. Better Than Sex Mascara (deluxe size), Dreamy Lips Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in shade Pink Swan (exclusive shade, full size), Hangover 3-in-1 Setting Spray (travel size), and limited edition makeup bag. The packaging is typical Too Faced cardboard quality and doesn’t feature a mirror.

Formula

If you have last year’s Too Faced Best Year Ever Palette, the formula is very similar. But the layout is different.

Color Range

In this year’s Too Faced Dream Queen Palette, you have a combination of satin and matte 24 eyeshadow shades, together with 2 blush shades, 1 bronzer, and 1 highlighter.

Eyeshadows:

Twinkle (pearl with gold shift), Wrap It Up (shimmering peach with gold sparkle), Secret Santa (matte dusty rose), Polar Bear Hug (pearl white), Unwrapped (matte warm brown), Christmas Cookie (gilded brown), Let’s Kringle (matte orange brown), All The Jingle Ladies (metallic bronze), Here For The ‘Hos (deep espresso with gold sparkle), Snowball Effect (matte cream), Pink Flurries (peachy pink), Cozy Up (metallic scarlet), Son Of A Nut-Cracker (chestnut brown), Kiss Miss (matte bubblegum pink), S’elfies (shimmering silvered mauve), Keep Your Hands To Your Elf (iced soft pink), Holly Grail (shimmering teal with maroon shift), Santa’s Bakeshop (matte mauve taupe), Let’s Roll (warm plum), Christmas Cheer (metallic rosewood), Christmas FOMO (electric violet), Special Delivery (matte deep black), Silver Bells (iced silver), Holly Daze (teal with silver sparkle).

Blush:

Sweet on Santa (peach pearl) and Winterberry (dusty rose with gold sparkle).

Bronzer:

Chestnut Roasting (warm bronze).

Highlighter:

Snow Extra (champagne pearl).

Pigmentation

While some shades remind me of Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, the quality of some eyeshadows is not the same. While the majority of shadows perform great (including both matte and satins), you really need to use glitter glue or a setting spray to set shimmer shades.

Face products are a bit powdery, but they certainly work. I actually adore the shade of a highlighter, even though I usually stay away from gold undertone highlighters.

Price Point

$58 at Sephora

The Best Part

The value of this holiday gift set is incredible! Basically, you are getting a full face of makeup (excluding foundation, concealer, and brow products) for the price of one palette. I mean, my favorite mascara and setting spray included? Plus, the cutest makeup bag? You can’t beat that!

The Worst Part

This palette might sound boring for people who prefer vivid color palettes. The blushes a bit powdery, but look great on my pale skin. Some of the pinks look exactly the same when applied on the lid. The only real “no” in this set is that I don’t like the scent of a lip gloss at all. Otherwise, it’s not bad at all!

Conclusion

Maybe I’m biased because I love all things cute, but I really love this set. If you have a lot of Too Faced palettes already or last year’s palette, you might skip on this one. But definitely pick it up as a gift for someone special who has a smaller makeup collection or loves all things pink and cute.
